On June 12th, Hats & Taps joined in for fun at Fremont Presbyterian 

Church and basked in the ambience' of the Alzheimer's Cafe'. 

Love shared with loved ones radiated towards us and lifted our feet and spirits with glee.

We fit right in as at one time or another, we all forget various costume items! Here we don a new type of open toed tap shoe!

This show went so fast and the audience was so fabulous, we were reluctant to leave. All four military numbers were a huge success.  Some of the cafe's customers joined us to dance and sing to the finale, Grand Old Flag. Our leader, Carol, converses with one of the audience members.

The smiles worn by Liz and Carolyn reflect our pure enjoyment and appreciation for this audience and their welcoming reactions.

You really can tell how happy Hats & Taps is to perform for such an audience. Our tribute to the armed forces with coordinating hats is a favorite every time!

Spring Birthdays

Getting ready to celebrate the Spring Birthdays with all ten Hats & Taps in attendance. Little did we know Ruth would wind up in the hospital this evening and receive two stents for her heart. She's recovering nicely though, thank goodness.

Many Tributes in May

WOW!  Our Leader/Teacher Carol is honored for 

15 years of service in RSVP!

(Retired Seniors Volunteer Program)

Without Carol, there would be no Hats & Taps.

As far as we know, there is no other senior tap group in our community that gives their time and hours to RSVP and performs, gladly, for no charge.  Carol taught tap for several years at Mission Oaks Community Center.  She also put on many wonderful annual showcases there! For more information on RSVP, please go to the very first posting on this blog.  

Huge thank yous to Carol from all the group.

The RSVP luncheon was held on May 22cd.  Many volunteers are featured and honored for their community service. Hat's & Taps is pictured above from a performance at a former luncheon.

May is certainly a month to share and enjoy all of Carol's military numbers. The audiences, no matter what condition they are in, perk up, love and respond to those numbers.

Eskaton Revisited

Spring Tip Toe Taps On...

Hats & Taps returned to Eskaton Monroe on April 11, 2014.  

Always a pleasure to dance there and engage with the audience.

At Easter Seals on April 25th, all ten Hats & Taps delight in being together and sharing with one of our favorite audiences.

Ruthie, center, entertains the audience during costume changes 

and has become quite expert using Mary's camera to take our pictures.

It's not easy getting group pics with all the movement 

and row changes.

We were able to do Razzle Dazzle twice this time for extra audience members. We welcome the chance to practice new, 

or newly revised dances.

Mother's Day in March

Of all ten Hats & Taps, we have only Linda 2's Mom here and instantly hugable.  Adopted as the groups official "Mom" at a former performance, we danced for her on March 26th, 2014, at Greenhaven Estates.  We were delighted to catch a glimmer in her eye and elicit a smile now and then. Linda's sister received Happy Birthday wishes as well.  The audience and staff were all very supportive and we tapped some sunshine forward on this rainy day.

Elks revisited

The wonderful Elks invited Hats & Taps back for another show.  Saturday evening, March 22, Hats performed their military numbers with much success!  A standing O from the tuxedo and gown crowd, (in other words-nicely dressed up), was gleefully described to the other members who could not make it that night.

 As each segment of music represents a branch of service, 

Hats & Taps encourages any audience members who served 

in that capacity to stand and join in.
