Winding Commons (Color Story by Connie)

October 10, 2014 was Hats & Taps first time performing at the beautiful Winding Commons and hopefully it won't be our last!
Upon arrival, we were greeted with warm, enthusiastic smiles and shown to a large dressing room, which we appreciated very much.  The staff brought in frosty bottles of water that refreshed us between sets.
Our audience was engaged and fun as we dazzled them with flashy costumes, smiles and smooth tap moves to six of our many routines.
We took them to Broadway with Razzle Dazzle and Roxie....
Slapped and clapped ourselves through Old Time Rock and Roll....
Brought the Andrew Sisters into the 21st Century....
As we boogied to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy....
Did our own version of The Boys from New York City....
And told them how much we loved them with, I Love You So.
We could tell the audience loved us as much as we loved them.
It was a fun show and we had a great time. When the show was over, we greeted our audience and were invited to join them for refreshments - and what a spread, complete with wine.  Way to go Winding Commons!  Would we come back for a repeat performance?
You bet ya!

Linda's 8th Birthday

Hats & Taps' (Our) Linda 1 turned 80.  We all turned 8.
Mary & Linda 2 wait for the arrival of our big birthday honoree
Hard to believe this lovely lady is 80!
Rhoda master minded this event and pulled off a wonderful surprise!
With many helpers and happy participants.
Games were played..... like musical chairs
Liz was not happy losing a chair!
Rhoda demonstrates "Drop the Clothes Pin in the Bottle"
which Lois perfected with her own spin on it.
Carolyn gets some hints from Rhoda with the Princess looking on.
Connie taught us all a ball tossing game that was a hoot!
And said we were pretty quick in untangling ourselves in her hand holding game.
Carol turns L 2 to ready her for a clown version of pin the tail on the donkey, and yes we did close our eyes.
A little extra entertainment to a Regge rendition of "Happy Birthday Linda" was choreographed by Carol and tapped by Mary and Marie then joined by the whole group.
Gifts galore befitting an 8 ee year young princess!
Happy Birthday Linda!

Mission Oaks Dress Rehearsal

Hats & Taps showed up for rehearsal Friday night donning the cute new caps Mary found at the dollar store! We have Lois, Linda 1, Carolyn, Connie, Mary, Linda 2, and Marie with Liz and Carol squeezed out on the ends.
It's fun to watch the other groups perform since we don't get that chance during the show. Liz, Linda 2 and Mary looking good with good looking Linda 1 and Carolyn in back!
More glamorous gals, Connie, Lois and Carol waiting for our next ups.
Linda 1, Carolyn and Marie look on and hope that the show goes well on Sunday!

Celebrating

Hats & Taps has been busy with reprising dances and learning another new number ala Carol.  The group took time to celebrate birthdays, including Carol 2's. We were very pleased to see her and catch up a bit.  We miss you C2!
Carol 2, Marie, Lois and Linda 1.
Thanks to Rhoda for organizing a new venue and managing all the arrangements!
Thank you, Mary, for taking the pictures!
Linda 1 had a special birthday this year.  Turning 80.
No way does this seem possible!
Carol lights the special candle she always brings.
We give it a good go but Carol 2 had to make it happen with an extra puff.
Hope all our wishes come true!

Rested Up and Ready to Tap

After Hats & Taps annual July break, they madly tapped off the dust from those waiting shoes and danced for Courtyard Terrace on August 8th. Easter Seals came up quickly thereafter on the 15th.
Rhoda prays for a successful performance... and good health and happiness for all.
We've said it before and we'll say it again...and again....
We love dancing for Easter Seals!
It shows on all our faces.
Mary, Carol, Liz, Linda 2 & Rhoda flick their hats for fun.
Carol always has open arms for every audience member!
The smiles on Connie, Linda 1, Carol and Lois
reflect the joy we feel and hope to share.
Linda 2, Mary, Connie, Rhoda, Linda 1, Liz, Carol and Lois
kick their feet, hold their hats and delight in the dance.
Ruthie with a new haircut.  Looks great Ruth!
The audience joined Hats & Taps for more
dancing on the floor together at the end of this program.
What fun!  Many thanks, as always.
