February Flew By

February really did fly by with three shows and much practicing of our flying in some routines. Favorite Ralph Richardson on the 8th premiered Carol's new number and our new costumes. Barbara of Ofcorset.com tailor-made our new vests with embroidery and love as we performed our first set; Love, Do you Love Me and One.  Rhoda gets credit for the pink skirts. We followed up with I Love a Piano, Boy From New York City and New York, New York after a change of costume.
We fell in love again with our new audiences on the 12th at Mather Field Veterans' Hospital. All ten of us pictured here with our entertainer, Ruthie. What a wonderful way to participate in "National Salute to Veteran Patients' Week"!  Performing in the hospital lobby/waiting room took many by surprise. Even some of the staff enjoyed our visit and lit up like our costumes.
Carolyn and Linda 1 getting ready.
We were given doctors exam rooms to change in.  A first!
Connie, Linda2, Marie and Liz waiting in real waiting rooms.
In the lobby and front line is: Linda 2, Linda 1, Carol, Carolyn and Connie. Visible behind them is Liz, Mary and Lois.
Mary, Linda 2, Connie, Marie and a peek at Carolyn dancing our second set.
Classy Carolyn looking good and behind is our teacher Carol, whom,
no matter where she is, smiles the biggest and flirts the best with those audience members!

Very special to us as well, however, was the opportunity to visit, give thanks, and personally deliver Valentines to some of the patients who could not leave their beds. We tried various tap steps in and out of rooms and were rewarded with some handsome smiles indeed. I believe almost all of the armed services were represented by those we visited.  We are truly grateful for their sacrifice and service! We hope we brightened their day as much as they did ours.
February came to a close on the 28th at Eskaton Monroe.
Hats & Taps readies for the fly step.
We love the light and floor at this venue as well as the audience! They make us feel right at home. We hear that some who missed the performance due to another outing were quite disappointed.  No worries, we'll be back!  Thanks for having us!
Thanks to Ruthie for entertaining while we change, playing the music and taking pictures to post!
Farewell to February.  We had fun!

  1. Well done ladies. Yes February has gone. Have you got something planned for St Patrick's Day somewhere?
