The Power of Tap

Recently, one of the Hats & Taps, Carolyn, gave the group a scare! While recovering from a close encounter, Hats & Taps gave a special performance for Carolyn and Jimmy's 55th Wedding Anniversary. Not a dry eye in the house while the anniversary couple danced, with Carolyn wheel chair bound.

Carolyn now, celebrating her birthday with the group and looking Marvelous! Consensus is prayers and the Power of Tap helped pull her through!

We can't wait to have those bright eyes, beautiful smile, and twinkle toes back on the dance floor!

Leader of the Band

Carol teaches tap classes at the Mission Oaks Community Center. Carol leads several tap groups and formed her own group, Hats & Taps, about 10 years ago.

Hats and Taps Song and Dance Company

Hats and Taps Song and Dance Company is a community service connected group. Through the love of song and dance, we perform for senior centers, the Children's Receiving Home, church groups, or any community group interested in a little entertainment at no charge.

Carol, the leader, teacher, and choreographer, is the driving force behind Hats and Taps.

Members of Hats and Taps belong to the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). RSVP is locally sponsored by the Sacramento County Department of Human Assistance. A wonderful Volunteer Profile of Hats and Taps was posted in 2006 on the Sacramento County web site. Since then, the group has grown to ten members who are committed to both Tap and community service. Check out the profile at http://dha.saccounty.net/Senior/hatsAndTapsProfile.htm
