End of Year Christmas Cheer

Hats & Taps Christmas Season started right out on December 1st.
We were so happy to have all nine of us for most of the shows!
Our special Easter Seals audience filled with Christmas joy,
clapped and sang with such Christmas spirit
on this first day of December.
Treated to doughnuts and juice made our spirits bright alright.
Ruth rocked us through the holidays in Christmas style!
December 4th at Eskaton Gold River
Connie, Liz, Carol, Marie, Linda 2
Lois, Mary, Linda 1 and Carolyn
What a nice cozy apartment we had to change in!
Thank you Easter Seals and Eskaton!

Hug A Vet Day!

What a wonderful final performance for Fall!
Hats & Taps performed for Roseville Commons on November 11th.
We had an audience and Veterans Day to remember!
Red poppies were handed out which we proudly wore.
One of Carol's (many) signature routines is her
Tribute to the Armed Forces.
Pictures above and below from previous times.
The Tribute is an audience favorite as well as one of ours!
We save it for our last number.
Our first set of three cowboy numbers went well.
We were missing a couple of our cowgirls though.
Here with Ruth who entertained the troops while we changed.
We enjoy changing up our costumes and especially for our military numbers. Pictures are from previous performances as we were not able to capture any pictures during our show this day.
It means much to us to pay tribute with Carol's Tribute,
to the incredible service all our armed forces have given us!  An audience participant prompted us to "give those guys hugs", not that we needed much prodding. There were 3 WWII vets in the audience behind us and some from other wars. We were more than happy to comply and those hugs and this experience will remain very special in our hearts!
We cannot thank Roseville Commons and the audience enough!
Full circle and time to get ready for Christmas cheer! A frost in the air and nervous reindeer, we now get ready for our winter wonderland and the end of this year!

Hats & Taps has had a full Fall schedule -
performing for SIRS at Fremont Presbyterian Church September 9th,

September 11th was a return to ....

and September 18th, at Eskaton Monroe.
Happy to keep up our heels for all our audiences!
Connie leads the way here in Boot Scootin' Boogie.
Rag Time Cowboy Joe followed by Cotton Eyed Joe with lassos in toe.
We did miss some of our Pardners.
 Choo choo Cha'boogie,
  Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,
And our heart felt
 Tribute to the Armed Forces.
Once we start, it is surprising just how fast six numbers fly by.

Easter Seals, Yes Indeed!

A special request was made from a favorite: Easter Seals!
Although only five of Hats & Taps could make this show, we were all happy that the crowd of over 100 were so enthusiastic and even asked for autographs! Mary, Carol, Liz, Linda 1 and Connie donned their military costumes and made us all proud! Back to work in August and see you in September!

Return to Campus

June 26th at Campus Commons Hats & Taps happily returned to reprise Carol's cowboy numbers.
Carol, Connie, Mary, Linda 2, Marie & Liz with lassos!
Boot Scootin' Boogie...
Ragtime Cowboy Joe...
And Cotton Eyed Joe...
Are all fun, energetic crowd pleasers.
We appreciate the wonderful floor for our tapping feet!
And of course the audience reception
As we rat-a-tat-tat our military numbers too.
  Thanks again Campus Commons.
We are ready for our summer break now but look forward to the next time!

Birthday Bash (s)

We're how old?
Everyone in Hats & Taps handles birthdays differently.
Carolyn, Liz, Linda 2, and Mary, who is closer to winter but still looks
like a spring chicken, celebrate with cards, banter and laughter.
We had a grand time and ate til we were tapped out.
Seriously, we had to fight the leaden feet and nap time urges to get through practice but we did accomplish some cobweb cleaning and look forward to our cowboy numbers coming real soon.
Plenty of hot air still left in these wind ...... pipes.
We were happy to have Mary's visiting friend, Kris, join us.
Carolyn, Lois, Mary, Linda 2, Linda 1, Liz, Marie, Kris, Connie and Carol. Linda 1 made a fabulous carrot cake from scratch. Thanks to all for yet another wonderful birthday celebration!
And speaking of Birthdays,...Doug is also a spring!
Lois led the Ladies in song and recognition of appreciation to Doug
for sharing his house and putting up with all us tappers!
Thank you so much Doug, and Carol!
Have a Happy Birthday!
