Sierra 2 River City Tap Show

Hats off... or on... no matter how crooked....for Carol.
Without whom a lot of unhappy tapper wanna bees would turn into zombies looking for another kind of sustenance.  Several tap attendees to Richard's big show at Sierra 2, December 14th, are or have been students of Carol's! Carol, a student of Richards, and others, continues to choreograph and teach and change a lot of lives.  She kindly supports whatever creative outlets come into being from her  connections and gives more than accolades for those efforts.
Connie, Linda1, Carolyn, Carol, Marie, Liz, Lois & Mary
wait in the wings to be first up in River City Taps Showcase.
Liz looking worried while the rest of us laugh it off.
Linda 1 and Carolyn looking lovely as always.
...And now with Connie.
Our costumes were a hit with Marie's capes and Linda 2's boots!
We missed Linda 2 and Rhoda, who could not make this one.
Mary with Carolyn and Linda 1 at her lovely home and after party.
Some of the group who managed to get a hold of those limited tickets. Thank you Carolyn and Linda!
Eating, visiting and relaxing after the show.
Susie and Marie enjoying Glenn's wonderful strawberry margharitas!
There they are again, those glamor twins!
Thank you Richard, for including Hats & Taps. It's a long day but a very special one! Happy Holidays til next Year!

Country Club Manor

December 12th, found Hats & Taps at Country Club Manor. Another repeat venue that we are always glad to perform for.
Our audience entertainer, Ruth, in the middle with, Linda 2, Connie, Carolyn, Liz, Carol, Lois, Linda 1 and Mary
Ruthie helps more than the audience! She keeps our taps timely informed, makes costume adjustments and takes pictures and video so we can concentrate on our dancing.
Marie switches places with Ruth for a Hats & Taps with nine pic.  We are missing number 10, our Rhoda, as she recoups this season.
Sharing Christmas songs and dance keep us in the spirit of giving. The gifts we receive from sugar plum smiles and glittering eyes last long after December passes.
Happy faces and happy feet.
Our winter tap boots ala Linda 2 can't be beat.
Whoaoooo Sleigh.  What a Ride.  Sometimes our reindeer get ahead of us and it's hard to stop. Then we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and prance off stage to change costumes.
We buffalo right, left, between and back ...making us giggle.
Circling round and round, we love to smile ... and wiggle.
Mary looks so excited here, jumping for joy with the biggest present ever! Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!
Christmas in Kilarney touches the Irish in all of us.
Some of us have deep roots from there.
Toe, toe -  our Irish ending and salute.
Feliz Navidad is fun and the audience joins in with the marachas Carol passes out to them. They really get into it here and we love that.
Hats & Taps feel pampered in their spacious changing room.
Thanks many times and more Country Club Manor!  We'll be back.

Happy Easter Seals

Always a favorite, nine Hats & Taps were happy to hop on over to Easter Seals on December 5th.  We have four fun videos to upload for this event. There is editing and downsizing to do however so will work on that for the near future.  In the meantime, thanks again Easter Seals! You always treat us extra special and we appreciate it!

Christmas Time Is Here

Hat's and Taps' Christmas Season started out with a Splash!
We practiced heartily through November to brush up on our Christmas numbers. Seven of them.  For our first show on December 3rd, we danced at Sacramento Manor.
What a day it was!  Eh, Carol, Ruth & Mary?
The audience showered us with praise and we were super showered on the way home.  Leaving the Manor around 3:15, the street and freeway flooding was challenging for most of us.  Connie won the boobie prize by NOT getting home until 8 pm.  I rode with Mary for the 2 hour 12 mile distance.  Confined in the car with me, Mary practiced her patience as I chattered away my nerves and was thankful not to be the driver.
On the bright side, we saw that spectacular full rainbow and caught, briefly, a double rainbow.  I threatened to break out in song with "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" but was afraid to propose getting out of the car and "Singing In the Rain".  All made it home safely and then, and only then, could we bask in the reminiscent sunshine of the audiences smiles and reception.  To the lady with the walker who commented on how glad she was to be wearing her clogs through the pathway puddles and commented, "But it was worth it!", thank you!  Our sentiments exactly!
We start our first set with "Let It Snow".
We go round that Christmas tree with glee.
"Sleigh Ride" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"  pump us up
and surely didn't let the audience down.
"Christmas in Kilarney" shows off an Irish flare...
in hopes the "St Nic" holas soon would be there.
 "Boogie Woogie Santa Clause"...
 never gives us pause
but keeps us on our tippy toes and brings us much applause.
 We finish with "Feliz Navidad".
Doing the likable lindys with 2 Lindas in front.
The "L"ovely ladies; Linda 2, Liz, Linda 1 & Lois
 Connie with Carolyn
 Carol & Marie
Happy Holidays to all!

Winding Commons (Color Story by Connie)

October 10, 2014 was Hats & Taps first time performing at the beautiful Winding Commons and hopefully it won't be our last!
Upon arrival, we were greeted with warm, enthusiastic smiles and shown to a large dressing room, which we appreciated very much.  The staff brought in frosty bottles of water that refreshed us between sets.
Our audience was engaged and fun as we dazzled them with flashy costumes, smiles and smooth tap moves to six of our many routines.
We took them to Broadway with Razzle Dazzle and Roxie....
Slapped and clapped ourselves through Old Time Rock and Roll....
Brought the Andrew Sisters into the 21st Century....
As we boogied to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy....
Did our own version of The Boys from New York City....
And told them how much we loved them with, I Love You So.
We could tell the audience loved us as much as we loved them.
It was a fun show and we had a great time. When the show was over, we greeted our audience and were invited to join them for refreshments - and what a spread, complete with wine.  Way to go Winding Commons!  Would we come back for a repeat performance?
You bet ya!

Linda's 8th Birthday

Hats & Taps' (Our) Linda 1 turned 80.  We all turned 8.
Mary & Linda 2 wait for the arrival of our big birthday honoree
Hard to believe this lovely lady is 80!
Rhoda master minded this event and pulled off a wonderful surprise!
With many helpers and happy participants.
Games were played..... like musical chairs
Liz was not happy losing a chair!
Rhoda demonstrates "Drop the Clothes Pin in the Bottle"
which Lois perfected with her own spin on it.
Carolyn gets some hints from Rhoda with the Princess looking on.
Connie taught us all a ball tossing game that was a hoot!
And said we were pretty quick in untangling ourselves in her hand holding game.
Carol turns L 2 to ready her for a clown version of pin the tail on the donkey, and yes we did close our eyes.
A little extra entertainment to a Regge rendition of "Happy Birthday Linda" was choreographed by Carol and tapped by Mary and Marie then joined by the whole group.
Gifts galore befitting an 8 ee year young princess!
Happy Birthday Linda!
